It has many climates
The south is often drier and sunnier, while the north is greener and can be cloudier. Teide is much colder than either coast. Pack layers rather than one fixed holiday wardrobe.

Motorways are quick in some areas, but mountain routes and coastal roads can be slow. Plan fewer stops and enjoy the drive rather than treating travel time as lost time.
