You do not need to be a plant expert to enjoy it: simply walk in, slow down, and let the shade, enormous roots, and tropical species work their magic.

It is a very convenient stop from La Orotava, Los Realejos, or Santa Úrsula. From southern Tenerife, I would recommend it only as part of a full-day tour of the north.

A morning visit is usually very pleasant, especially in summer. The light is also good for photographs in the middle of the afternoon, but remember not to arrive just before closing if you want to enjoy the garden properly.

Do not rule it out in light rain: the garden looks wonderful in humid conditions, provided you bring non-slip footwear and a light extra layer.
