Tenerife viewpoints are one of the best reasons to explore the island by car. You can look over volcanic calderas, green valleys, Atlantic cliffs and resort coastlines—often all on the same trip.
Choose a route, not every viewpoint
Teide, the north, Anaga and the west coast each have their own character. Pick one area for the day and leave room for weather, traffic and safe stops.
Stop safely
Use official viewpoints and parking bays. Never stop on a blind bend, block a narrow road or step beyond barriers for a photograph.
Best time of day
Morning and late afternoon often give the best light, but clouds can transform a view. Flexibility is more useful than a fixed photo schedule.
What to take
Bring water, sun protection and a layer, especially for high viewpoints. Keep fuel in the car and allow more driving time than maps suggest on mountain roads.
